| 2012 Fall Ball Registration |  | | | Registration for the 2012 Fall leauge begins on Wednesday, August 1st. Returning teams from Fall 2011 need to go to the Forms page in order to secure their spot in the league. Returning teams have until Wednesday, August 15th to guarantee their spot. After August 15th we will go to the waiting list to fill out any remaining spots. We will once again have 20 teams in the Fall League this season provided that we get the same field slots we had last year.
Teams that want to get on the waiting list can go to the Forms link above as well. The cost for the Fall league is $550 for Spring teams with the same sponsor and $600 for new teams or teams with new sponsors. This is due to liability insurance that needs to be purchased for new teams. Each team is scheduled 8 regular season games and will be entered in the double elimination tournament at the end of the regular season.
Money for returning teams is due Monday, August 27th. Money for new teams will be due on Friday, August 31st.
The season is scheduled to start on Tuesday, September 4th after the Labor Day weekend. We will play four games a night, one at 6:00pm, one at 7:15pm and two games at 8:30pm, Monday thru Friday each week. The end of the regular season is tentatively Monday, October 1st. The remainder of the week will be used to handle rainouts. The double elimination tournament will start on Monday, October 8th at the latest. If all regular season games are completed the prior week, there will be one day off and then the playoffs will start. Teams are not guaranteed to play all 8 regular season games depending on rainouts but we will schedule all remaining regular season games for Sunday, October 7th. We will do our best to get all games in before October 8th.
Before you decide to enter your team in the Fall, please remember that the Fall season only lasts two months and extreme flexibility is required. With the abbreviated season, expect to play in the rain at least once if the infields are playable. Your team needs to be willing to play any night of the week plus possibly Sunday, October 7th and/or Sunday, October 21st if there is a lot of rain. We do take requests for bad dates/times for the regular season but are unable to do this during the playoff tournament.
There are three other rules to be aware of for our Fall league. Your three women must bat at the top of your lineup, either 1st, 3rd and 5th or 2nd, 4th and 6th. We start the count at one ball and one strike and there will be NO courtesy foul at two strikes, you foul, you’re out. We have strict ASA run rules which is 20 runs after 3 innings, 15 runs after 4 innings and 10 runs after 5 innings. These rules are valid for the regular season AND the double elimination playoff tournament. We will also be trying out new 11" women’s balls this fall. Our hopes is to open the game up a little for the women and the Fall league will be used as the testing ground.
For new teams that want to enter out league, we only have spots for 20 teams due to field and time restrictions so we accept returning teams from Fall 2011 first and then go to the waiting list (first come, first serve) to fill out the remaining slots. We would like to accept all teams that want to play softball but the lack of field availability in our area makes this impossible. If you sent an email to info@cccesl.com inquiring about the Fall leauge the past month, your "waiting list date" will be retroactive to your email. |
