| 2010 Fall Ball Registration |  | | | Registration for the 2010 Fall leauge has begun. Returning teams from Fall 2009 need to go to the Forms page in order to secure their spot in the league. Returning teams have until Wednesday, August 11th to guarantee their spot. After August 11th, we will go to the waiting list to fill out any remaining spots. We will once again have 20 teams in the Fall League this season provided that we get the same field slots we had last year.
Teams that want to get on the waiting list can go to the Forms link above as well. The cost for the Fall league is $550 for Spring teams with the same sponsor and $600 for new teams or teams with new sponsors. This is due to liability insurance that needs to be purchased for new teams. Each team is scheduled 8 regular season games and will be entered in the double elimination tournament at the end of the regular season.
Money for returning teams is due Friday, August 20th. Money for new teams will be due on Friday, August 27th.
The season is scheduled to start on Tuesday, September 7th after the Labor Day weekend. We will play four games a night, one at 6:00pm, one at 7:15pm and two games at 8:30pm, Monday thru Friday each week. The end of the regular season is tentatively Monday, October 4th. The remainder of the week will be used to handle rainouts. The double elimination tournament will start on Monday, October 11th at the latest. If all regular season games are completed the prior week, there will be one day off and then the playoffs will start. Teams are not guaranteed to play all 8 regular season games depending on rainouts. We will do our best to get all games in before October 11th.
Before you decide to enter your team in the Fall, please remember that the Fall season only lasts two months and extreme flexibility is required. With the abbreviated season, expect to play in the rain at least once if the infields are playable. Your team needs to be willing to play any night of the week plus possibly Sunday, October 24th if there is a lot of rain. We do take requests for bad dates/times for the regular season but are unable to do this during the playoff tournament.
There are three other rules to be aware of for our Fall league. Your three women must bat at the top of your lineup, either 1st, 3rd and 5th or 2nd, 4th and 6th. We start the count at one ball and one strike and there will be NO courtesy foul at two strikes, you foul, you’re out. Also, we are moving to strict ASA run rules which is 20 runs after 3 innings, 15 runs after 4 innings and 10 runs after 5 innings. This will be put into place for the regular season AND the double elimination playoff tournament. |
