Downingtown Middle School defeated Paramount/Network & Software Development 17-14 on a wet evening at the Westtown Complex. D-Town sent 19 hitters to the plate in the bottom of the 1st, plating 15 runs. They showed terrific patience and discipline at the plate and were content to dink-and-dunk their way to a big inning. This new-found swing control promptly disappeared for the remained of the contest, but hopefully it will return by Thursday night.
Kris James made his career debut on the mound in the 3rd inning and threw 5 solid innings of relief, surrendering only 4 runs over that span. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate with 5 RBIs and a run scored. Stacy Tukloff-Vansant continued her torrid hitting streak with a single in the 1st. Ronnie Alf had a solid game in CF and combined with SS Joey Germani, and 3B Mike Taraborrelli to nail a runner trying to go 1st to 3rd on a single.
