4/26/2009In a seesaw battle, MVP was able to outlast the strong play of US Liability by a score of 17-14. MVP needed a seven-run burst in the top of the 7th to ensure a win in a game that saw 3 lead changes. Leading the offense for MVP was Chris Walls (4-for-4, 3 doubles, 3 RBIs). Dave Cinalli (run), Brad Scheirer (3 runs) and Dustin Freeman (2 runs) each had 3 hits consisting of single, double and triple. J.R. Thomas (1-for-2, walk) and Mike Brunner (2-for-5, double) each scored 2 runs. Also adding a run each were Jean Lewis (2-for-4, 2 singles), Erin Duthie (1-for-4,double), Chris Duffany (2-for-4, double) and Joanne Mullen (1-for-3). Billy Mackiewicz (3-for-4, triple, run) tossed the first 5 innings of play before handing the game to Harold Smith in the 6th who went on to earn his first win of the season.
